This smoothie is the second in the series of recovery smoothies that provide (dairy-free) calcium and anti-inflammatory properties. Pineapple is high in an enzyme called bromelain, which can reduce pain and swelling. If you’re sitting by the beach with this one you can almost fool yourself into thinking it’s a Pina Colada.
300ml Sanitarium Coconut milk, 150g fresh, sweet pineapple, or canned pineapple, 1 Tbsp desiccated coconut, 1 Tbsp oat bran, 1 Tbsp chia seeds
Blend together and add ice to make this extra- refreshing!
A very light and tangy smoothie, more suitable as a snack, or consumed along with a nutritious recovery meal. Great source of dairy-free calcium, phosphate and potassium.
